NAP DAY

Nap time. It's one of the most powerful ways to say goodbye to stress we learned when we were children. How much sleep do you get each night? While researchers suggest we get 7-9 hours, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that more than a third of us are falling short - opening us up to all sorts of problems that can impact our Happiness. Sleep helps the body restore, and the brain to rebuild its stockpile of mood-boosting hormones, and be sharp enough to sort through the day’s experiences.

Not getting enough sleep not only makes us tired and less alert but also more irritable and stressed. A UC Berkley study shows that sleep-deprived people tend to focus more on the negative, often becoming sad and even depressed. Plus, it increases the risk of such health problems as weight gain, stroke and diabetes, and more. So, it makes sense that sleep-deprived people say they’re less Happy than those who get enough sleep.
